room

Hey friends! Here is a quick and fun game/boredom buster for kids. This room of balloons will provide you at least an hour of entertainment for children. Use this as an activity for an indoor birthday party to give you time to cut the cake!

You Will Need

  • Balloons
  • A room without any breakables

Blow up at least 60 balloons; enough to at least cover the floor. If you have older children, let them exercise their lungs by blowing up the balloons up. Their lungs may be more robust! I like to use an electronic balloon blower; you can buy one for $20, or you can also use a hand pump. Now place them in a kid-friendly room (nothing valuable) and release the children! I promise you they will have so much fun! If you want to include smaller children, then I advise you to supervise them so that they don’t hurt themselves or pick up broken balloons.

A Room of Balloons Theme

A fun twist to this is if you have an under-the-sea, beach, or pirate themed party. Make all the balloons different shades of blue, add some plastic beach toys from the dollar store or pirate treasure (candy gold coins in a chest) hidden under the balloons. You can get gold coin candy from Party City. Let them search to find the toys or treasure!

Take The Balloons Outside!

If you are outside, turn these into water balloons in a kiddie pool! I would still look for blue and green, but you can always go with the traditional colors because kids don’t care! I suggest the “Bunch O Balloons” because they are easier to fill up. But if you are like me and want to keep with the theme, so the pictures look fantastic, look for those blues and greens! The possibilities are endless for just some simple balloons!
